I've been experimenting with alcohol inks. I had bought this Canson recycled paper that had a glossy side. I decided to try the inks on it. It doesn't work well, you can see on the reverse side the way the inks just got absorbed. After I finished the page, I thought my Carmen Miranda singing stamp would look good on the yellow, so I stamped it using green ink.
I learned about Chawne Kimber from an article in Scientific American. She is a mathematician and a quilter. This is her blog.

Lisa Pay shows how to do the back stab stitch
I was reading instructions for a doll pattern and at one point this stitch was mentioned. I thought this was a good video. She demonstrates its usefulness in making toy animals.
