June 2019
I went to Blick on 23 St. and bought some items. I got these droppers to use with my alcohol ink.
I found a small tile in a random box of craft items and painted it with alcohol ink. I wrote the Chinese word for Spring on it. I ordered some ribbons and fabric strips from Color Crazy and made the locker hooked design from one of her patterns.
I participated in the Rag Bag Gals sticks and stones amulet bag swap, I put my treasures on top of the Chinese symbol for double happiness.

May 2, Holocaust Remembrance
This alcohol ink work I made in memory of Lori Gilbert Kaye who lost her life in the shooting at the Poway Synagogue. The chief rabbi of that congregation said that the way to react to darkness is with light.

I've been experimenting with alcohol inks. I had bought this Canson recycled paper that had a glossy side. I decided to try the inks on it. It doesn't work well, you can see on the reverse side the way the inks just got absorbed. After I finished the page, I thought my Carmen Miranda singing stamp would look good on the yellow, so I stamped it using green ink.

The Sound of Starbucks
I learned about Chawne Kimber from an article in Scientific American. She is a mathematician and a quilter. This is her blog.
Jay Hart did a tutorial on making a handkerchief doll.
Lisa Pay shows how to do the back stab stitch
I was reading instructions for a doll pattern and at one point this stitch was mentioned. I thought this was a good video. She demonstrates its usefulness in making toy animals.
